HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-03-1960 CC Minutes 3s s" MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MISSION, KANSAS August 3, 1960 III The meeting was called to order by Mayor Sylvester Powell,Jr. The following councilmen were present- John T Jones, Victor Andersen, H. Russell Johnson, Paul A. Cooper,Jr., Paul Parker, John Shreves, Phil Woodworth and George Mahoney. The reading of the minutes was waived. After a discussion of storm drainage in the area near 56th and Dearborn, the residents who appeared was assured that the problem was still under study. Notice of.meetings would be given to all persons in the affected district. Thereupon, Mr. James J. Leary of 5642 Woodson appeared requesting approval of plans sub= mitted for remodeling his home. After due discussion, there was tie vote for the approv- al.Thereupon, Mayor voted as opposed to the approval. The permit was denied because the plans were in excess of the 20% requirement of the building code. Thereupon Walter E. Groom appeared in regard to the remodeling at 5310 Johnson Drive. The matter was referred to the Health Inspector and the Building=Inspector for further study. Thereupon, an ordinance making appropriation for the monthly expenses as required by law was presented and passed. The meeting was adjourned to Aug. 12th for the hearing on the proposed budget. Jones, Victor Andersen, H. Russell Johnson, Paul A. Cooper,Jr., John Shreves, Phil Woodworth and George Mahoney. After due discussion, the building permit for the Chrysler Building, 6819 Johnson Drive was approved subject to corrections and amendments shown on master plans and subject to a drainage plan approved by the city engineer also subject to qualifications of build- ing inspector.
