AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR TM APPOINTMENT OF A CITY ATTORNEY AND
1 1 PROVIDING FOR HIS COMPENSATION AND DUTIES.

Be it ordained by the governing body of the City nf Mission:
SECTION 1. The Mayor shall by and 'with the consent of the City Council
appoint a City Attorney.
SECTION 2. DUTIES OF CITY ATTORNEY. It shall he the Jut: of the city
attorney to atLerd, so far as reasonabl; possible, a12 meetings of the
city council, during his term; to furnish advice on legal points to the 1

mayor, city council, city officers and employees concerning city business;
to aid in drawing ordinances; to draw contracts and such other instrumento
may he necessary before the local police court in connection with said
city affairs; to attend hearings before the County Commisoioners and the
State Board when directed by the mayor and city council, and to represent t
the city generally in legal matters.
SECTION 3. COMPENSATION OF CITY ATTORNEY. The compensation of said city
attorney shall be 06.50 per month, payable monthly commencing October 1,
1951, from such proper fund -as the council shall by vote direct. lie t
shall also be reimbursed for his actual expense when ordered to attent
elections or meetings away from Mission and beyond a radius of twenty
milea from Mission. When he shall represent the city in any court of
record or any State Board in a manner in which the city is plaintiff or
an active defredent, he shall be paid areasonablc fee .:el addition to
the amount set forth in this section.

SECTION This ordinance shall be effective upon and 'ter publication
